HR Operations Specialist – Financial Services

A leading financial services firm is seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to deliver efficient and compliant HR services across the organisation. This is a pivotal role supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring adherence to strict regulatory requirements, and driving best practice within a high-performing HR function.

Due to the highly regulated nature of this role, financial services experience is essential , with strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance processes, including the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).

The Role

Reporting to the Head of People Operations, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a point of escalation for HR queries and reviewing outputs from junior team members.

  • Managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, and DSARs.

  • Leading on SMCR processes and contributing to fit-and-proper assessments.

  • Providing expertise on visa applications and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintaining and updating HR policies to reflect legislation and business needs.

  • Managing employee data and ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Supporting HR projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and mitigate risk.

  • Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver trusted HR advice and solutions.

The Person

We are seeking a candidate who brings:

  • Proven HR operations experience within financial services (essential).

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, SMCR, and compliance-led HR processes.

  • A strong track record in managing employee relations matters end-to-end.

  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment while maintaining high standards.

  • CIPD qualification (or progress towards it) preferred.
