We’re looking for a driven and technically capable Associate Solutions Architect to join our architecture team. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong engineering foundation (in software engineering, devops, or infrastructure) to grow into a well-rounded architecture role, shaping technical standards and supporting strategic migrations.
You'll work directly with the Head of Architecture to help modernize legacy systems, set engineering standards, assess project solutions, and support secure, compliant platform operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with tech leads and engineering teams to:
- Review and support architectural decisions for new and existing projects
- Set and promote engineering standards (e.g., observability, testing, security practices)
- Drive adoption and monitor compliance with architectural guidelines
- Support strategic projects, including:
- Migrating on-prem services and databases into AWS (RDS, Kubernetes)
- Improving observability across platforms (e.g., New Relic, Grafana, Logz.io)
- Participate in threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and client security responses
- Help assess and reduce technical debt across legacy services
- Work across teams to promote high technical standards and help influence best practice adoption
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain architectural decisions and rationale
- Set and promote data engineering standards (e.g., SQL performance, event-driven architectures, data taxonomy)
Requirements
Essential requirements:
- Background in software engineering or DevOps (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with cloud architecture – especially AWS (RDS, IAM, EC2, EKS, networking)
- Experience working with or supporting microservices and container-based systems
- Strong awareness of security and compliance principles, especially in regulated industries
- Knowledge of CI/CD, logging, and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Grafana, Terraform)
- Familiarity with data architecture (e.g. event buses, data warehouses, SQL performance)
- Excellent presentation, communication and collaboration skills – able to build trust with engineers and business stakeholders
Preferred requirements:
- AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate)
- Experience with ISO27001 and/or PCI-DSS compliance
- Exposure to hybrid cloud / migration from on-prem to cloud environments
- Familiarity with observability strategy or platform standardization projects
Guidelines for Hybrid/Home Office :
- Located in London
- Please note that you will be asked to enter into a hybrid working arrangement - at least 2x a week in the office.
- A secure home office at your confirmed address, free from background noise or other distractions.
- You must meet our minimum internet speeds if you want to work in our hybrid model and this will be checked during the recruitment process and again when you join. We also have a great office that you can work from as an alternative.
