A leading and fast-growing top 20 accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Audit and Accounts Manager to join their London office. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified and ambitious accountant to join a dynamic, client-focused firm that works with a broad range of SME clients across various sectors.
What you will be doing as an Audit and Accounts Manager
- Lead and deliver audit and assurance services to a portfolio of clients in the SME sector.
- Manage client relationships, acting as a key contact and trusted advisor.
- Supervise audit teams and support staff, ensuring high-quality file completion and compliance.
- Review working papers and ensure audits are carried out in line with UK auditing standards.
- Identify business development opportunities and assist in winning new work.
- Support partners and senior managers on technical matters and larger client accounts.
- Contribute to internal quality and technical standards, including audit file reviews.
What you will need to succeed as an Audit and Accounts Manager
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified, with several years post-qualification experience.
- Previous experience as an Audit Manager or Assistant Manager within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, ISAs, and relevant audit and accounting standards.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and client liaison skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver audits from planning to completion.
- Well-rounded tax knowledge, especially in corporation tax; knowledge of trusts or charities is a plus.
- Experience using software such as CCH, Audit Automation, Inflo, SAP, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is beneficial.
- Able to manage deadlines under pressure with a flexible and proactive approach.
