Children’s Home Registered Manager
Location: London | Contract: Permanent | Hours: 40 hours per week + on‑call
Salary: £52,000 base + performance bonuses (up to £58,600 total)

About the Role
As the Registered Manager you will have overall accountability for the safety, wellbeing, and development of children aged 9‑17 with complex emotional and behavioural needs in a solo children’s home.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a small team, organising work patterns, supervising staff, and providing coaching and training.
- Maintain robust safeguarding systems, risk assessments, and safer‑staffing arrangements in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Develop and implement child‑centred care plans, ensuring each child’s vulnerabilities and support needs are consistently addressed.
- Coordinate multi‑agency collaboration with external professionals and partner organisations.
- Drive continuous improvement, uphold the organization’s ethos, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Quality Standards).
- Manage the on‑call rota and respond to incidents promptly and professionally.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Leadership and Management qualification (or willingness to obtain one) and NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.
- Strong knowledge of childcare and safeguarding legislation, with proven ability to lead safeguarding practice.
- 2‑3 years of management experience in a children’s home or comparable setting.
- Excellent communication skills, confidence, professionalism, and resilience.
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for them.
Working Conditions
- Full‑time (40 hours per week) with a self‑managed rota and on‑call duties.
- Solo home environment, providing a focused setting for individualized care.
- Probation period of 6 months.
- Appointment subject to Ofsted approval and an enhanced DBS check.
Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary £52,000 – potential total earnings up to £58,600 through bonuses.
- Ofsted performance bonus: £3,000 for an Outstanding judgement, £1,500 for a Good judgement.
- Full‑occupancy bonus of £300 per month.
- Choice of a company car or £3,000 annual travel allowance.
- Mobile phone provided for work use.
- 32 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing by 1 day each year for the first three years.
- Workplace pension (enrolment after probation).

- Three‑month notice period (except in disciplinary cases).
