About the Role
As Caretaker, you will carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks, ensure the site is secure, and support the smooth operation of the school facilities. You will work closely with the Premises Manager and other staff to maintain a safe and welcoming school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning oversight
Monitoring health and safety standards across the school site
Supporting the set-up and take-down of school events and activities
Responding to site-related issues promptly and effectively
Assisting with security, including locking/unlocking buildings and alarm monitoring
Maintaining tools, equipment, and stock for site management
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have practical skills in maintenance, DIY, or facilities management
Be reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
Understand basic health and safety requirements in a school setting
Demonstrate good communication and teamworking skills
Be flexible and able to respond to the varied needs of a busy primary school
Experience in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
