The Role

Successful candidates will teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitably experienced applicants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge students
  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement
  • Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning needs
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and department enrichment activities
  • Foster strong classroom behaviour and positive learning environments
  • Support students with exam preparation and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and school leaders to maximise student outcomes

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or on track to achieve QTS
  • Degree in English or a related subject
  • Passion for English Literature, Language and education
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress
  • Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative department culture
