Support Worker

• Status: Part-time, ongoing • Start date to be agreed About the Family A Milton Keynes family seeks a compassionate, emotionally intelligent professional for their 11-year-old daughter. The child has experienced trauma and struggles with current family dynamics and emotional regulation. This relationship-led role requires a sensitive individual who can build long-term trust, connection, and emotional security. The Role • Build Trust: Form a warm, consistent relationship at the child's pace without judgment.
• Emotional Support: Provide a calm, patient presence during moments of anger or frustration.
• Activities & Outings: Plan age-appropriate, interest-based activities to boost her confidence and independence.
• Safe Space: Encourage healthy communication and emotional expression while respecting boundaries.
• Family Collaboration: Work with the father and stepmother, offering practical guidance to help strengthen family relationships and provide parental respite. Candidate Requirements • Experience: Prior care with ages 10–13 • Confidently handles resistance and emotional dysregulation.
• Approach: Calm, empathetic, non-judgmental • Traumed-informed perspective on behavior.
• Vetting: Clean Enhanced DBS check • Non-smoker • Excellent references.
• Desirable: Background in therapeutic childcare, family support, mentoring, or pastoral care • Training in safeguarding and emotional regulation.
