Specialty Doctor in Oral Surgery

Applications are invited for the position of a substantive, full time (10 sessions) as a Specialty Doctor in the Oral Surgery Department at King's College Hospital NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the provision and delivery of high quality healthcare for patients who need treatment for a wide range of Oral Surgery problems.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council and demonstrate an interest in Oral Surgery.
Successful applicants will work within a team that is led by 10 consultants supported by more than 20 SAS grade dentists providing high quality care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties include both clinic and operating sessions under local anaesthesia and intravenous sedation, along with involvement in teaching and mentoring more junior staff.
The post-holder will also be involved in the provision of advice to clinicians in hospital and primary care settings, originating either from telephone calls from external practitioners, other departments, or associated clinical professionals.

- Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
Desirable criteria
- Further relevant qualifications (e.g. higher university degree, clinical diploma, MFDS or MFJDP)
