Design Manager - Womenswear

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading UK supplier of womens multi-products to major high street retailers and supermarkets. This role offers the chance to lead and inspire within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
We are looking for a creative, commercial, and trend-driven Design Manager with a strong portfolio in the young to mid-market sector. You'll bring a confident handwriting style, a strong understanding of woven and Jersey products, and the ability to design for volume accounts. Experience working with supermarkets and high-street retailers is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design direction across ladieswear multi-product, from trend research through to final product.
• Reporting to the Design Director.
• Creating seasonal mood and trend boards, colour palettes, and capsule collections.
• Researching, sourcing, and developing fabrics, trims, and new design ideas.
• Presenting design concepts and collections clearly to both internal teams and external buyers.
• Working closely with sales and buying teams to deliver customer-focused, commercial ranges.
• Attending fabric fairs and inspirational shopping trips to drive innovation.
• Overseeing CADs, tech packs, and ensure all design work is executed to a high standard.
• Managing a team of designers from graduates, through to Senior Designers.

Person Specification:

• Background in womens wovens or Jersey is essential.
• Proven experience designing young to mid-market womenswear for volume/high-street accounts .
• Confident, trend-led handwriting with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent CAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and presentation skills.
• Strong communication skills - confident in customer-facing meetings.
• Able to thrive under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
• A collaborative team player with a true passion for fashion.
