Cloud Engineer - Networks

At UBDS Group, we’re looking for a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on networking, firewalls, LAN, and WAN to help design, implement, and support secure and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions for our clients.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring that cloud environments are not only high-performing but also resilient and secure. You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, and client stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet complex networking requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud-based network architectures across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Configure and manage LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure secure connectivity.
• Collaborate with cloud architects to integrate networking components into broader infrastructure solutions.
• Troubleshoot network issues and optimise performance across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Implement network security best practices, including segmentation, access control, and monitoring.
• Support migration projects involving legacy network infrastructure to cloud-native solutions.
• Document network configurations and maintain operational runbooks.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments.
• Deep understanding of LAN/WAN architecture, firewall configuration, and network security.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
• Experience with VPNs, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

• Cloud - Azure and AWS

• Storage: Dell PowerScale, HP Alletra, Dell Compellent
• Hardware: Dell, HP
• Networking: VMware NSX, Aruba, Ruckus (Switching & WiFi), Brocade, Fortinet Firewalls
