Business Development Associate
We are partnering with a leading UK-based investment and wealth management company to find a talented Business Development Associate to join their Sales team. With the client offering multi-asset investment solutions to intermediaries; providing expert financial planning services to private clients; and with a strong network of regional offices across the UK; this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a dynamic regional team within an award-winning organisation known for its performance, service and commitment to responsible investing.
The successful candidate will support the wider regional business development team, primarily through proactive telephone engagement with financial advisers in the South of England. You will be instrumental in nurturing adviser relationships and driving sales activity, while collaborating closely with Business Development Managers, investment professionals, and other internal teams.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Building and maintaining regular contact with new and existing financial advisers, delivering consistent messaging and promoting the firm’s proposition.
- Developing strong, lasting relationships with advisers to drive satisfaction and retention.
- Proactively contributing to regional business plans in partnership with internal stakeholders to support strategic goals.
- Achieving agreed sales targets and performance indicators through structured outreach.
- Recording all adviser interactions and business activity accurately using the firm’s CRM platform (Salesforce).
- Analysing and use internal and market data, including sales performance and adviser activity, to support business reporting and decision-making.
- Collaborating with Marketing, Investment Management, Operations, and third-party providers to ensure cohesive support for advisers.
- Providing support in completing due diligence checks and adviser onboarding documentation when required.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the firm’s products, services and regulatory environment; undertake continuous professional development (CPD) as necessary.
- Actively participating in team meetings and contribute to shared goals.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted in line with regulatory and compliance standards, including FCA Conduct Rules.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous sales experience in a professional environment, or exposure to speaking with people from a client/customer service background.
- A willingness to learn investment products, financial markets, and regulatory considerations.
- Good telephone manner with the ability to sell products and services over the phone.
- Proficient in the use of CRM systems; Salesforce experience is highly desirable.
- Confident communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage a range of professional stakeholders.
