HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
The Accessories Senior Merchandiser is responsible for providing a sound support in the creation and management of the optimal range plan and assortment for all Leather Goods, Footwear and Accessories categories based on brand vision, competition trends, market feedback and analysis of past launch performances. This role plays an important role in ensuring development timelines, OTB, margin and inventory targets are met and in supporting the planning and buying activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Based on brand strategy, customer insights, market trends, analysis of the former sales indicators and past seasons’ wins and opportunities, support the definition of a top-line merchandising strategy for Leather Goods, Footwear and Accessories that should include:
- Range structure, optimal option count and price architecture
- Sales, margin and inventory targets
- Target customer and opportunity identification
- Market trends and competition
- Lead the preparation of the seasonal briefs to the design and development teams.
supported by regular review of competitor’s intel: pricing, product offer, structure of range, new launches, etc.
- Collaborate closely with the regional merchandising teams, commercial and wholesale to capture opportunities and develop capsules and special projects
- Support the range planning and the management of continuity performance, lifecycle and launch/discontinuation
- Work closely with the Product Development department in reviewing all product information, cost and margin vs agreed targets
- Collaborate with Retail Merchandising in the review of product and collection performance thru key indicators: sales in value and units, sales mix, average selling price, rate of sale, stock cover, seasonal sell-through etc. Lead the preparation of seasonal hindsight analysis and any ad hoc analysis required for Accessories
- Support the definition of action plans in response to sales trends and propose solutions in conjunction with the business planning team, product development and supply chain
- Create and manage key product merchandising tools and manage the upload of product information on the system, with support from the Merchandising Assistant
- Propose international price positioning
- Oversee the critical path working with the different teams to ensure development deadlines are met and that new product launches reach the markets on schedule
- Support VM team in adjusting guidelines to reflect commercial needs and to optimise localised performance
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, PR to support key launches
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in merchandising.
- Analytical skills, strong attention to detail, through well-developed organizational and time management
- Excellent team player, building good working relations with key business partners – Design, Product Development, Retail Merchandising, Markets and Supply Chain team
- Results driven and dynamic
- Flexible and positive mindset and can-do attitude
- Strategic thinker with vision and foresight to seek out new and different opportunities
