Encore Search is a specialist executive search and talent advisory firm focused on front office markets across Commodities, Equities and Quantitative Investment Strategies. We work with leading banks, trading houses and investment platforms globally, combining executive search with deep market intelligence and data-led insights.

As part of the continued development of the firm, we are expanding our coverage of the US commodities markets and building a dedicated desk focused on front office roles within tier-one investment banks.

This represents an opportunity for an experienced consultant to join a firm where they can help build and shape a market within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role sits within a warm and established client ecosystem and forms part of a broader strategy to deepen our coverage of key front office markets.

The Opportunity
This role is designed for someone who enjoys building markets properly — developing expertise, relationships and insight over time rather than simply working transactional recruitment processes.

A significant part of the role will involve building detailed market maps and developing a data-led intelligence product covering the US commodities ecosystem. This includes understanding team structures, reporting lines, compensation dynamics and the movement of talent across the market.

The individuals placed into investment banking trading teams often come from a range of backgrounds including other banks, hedge funds, trading houses and specialist commodity firms. Developing a strong understanding of these talent flows will be central to the role.

Once this market intelligence platform is built, it becomes the foundation for engaging senior hiring managers within tier-one banks and delivering high quality executive search mandates.

Regular travel will be an important part of the role as the desk develops, including trips to key markets such as New York and Houston to meet both clients and candidates.

This role is designed for someone who wants to build a genuine market franchise — developing deep expertise, trusted relationships and a strong reputation within a collaborative and ambitious team environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
\t•\tBuilding detailed market maps across US commodities trading and structuring teams
\t•\tDeveloping a structured market intelligence product covering team structures, reporting lines, talent movement, revenue generation and compensation dynamics across the market
\t•\tBuilding longterm relationships with traders, structurers and desk heads across banks, trading houses, hedge funds and commodity firms
\t•\tCreating high quality candidate profiles and market insight for internal and client use
\t•\tIdentifying hiring trends and opportunities across the market
\t•\tConverting relationships and insight into retained and exclusive search mandates
\t•\tManaging search processes once mandates are secured
\t•\tContributing intelligence and insight back into the wider Encore team

What We Look For
We are looking for individuals who combine ambition with professionalism and discipline.

You will likely have around 4–5 years of experience within recruitment or executive search and be comfortable operating within intellectually demanding markets.
