Fire Risk Assessor
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Location: London
Overview
A leading higher-education organisation is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to support fire safety across a large and diverse estate. This role focuses on delivering compliant fire risk assessments and providing expert guidance to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and review Fire Risk Assessments in line with PAS 79/BS 9792
- Provide clear, practical fire safety advice in line with UK legislation and BS 9999 principles
- Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Support projects, refurbishments, and operational activities from a fire safety perspective
- Assist with emergency planning, fire drills, and incident investigations
- Promote a strong and proactive fire safety culture across the estate
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification or NEBOSH Fire Safety (with relevant experience)
- Experience delivering PAS 79-compliant Fire Risk Assessments
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
- Ability to interpret building drawings and layouts
- Experience providing fire safety advice and training
Desirable:
- Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
- Membership of a recognised Fire Risk Assessor register
