Trust Fire Safety Manager
Job overview
The post holder will form a key position within the Fire Safety Team and will have responsibility for the day to day fire safety management across the King’s sites.
As part of a team, the post holder will be expected to work closely with their colleagues and work alongside all sub-divisions of CEF . Although based mainly at the Denmark Hill, PRUH, Orpington, the post holder will be required to work at other sites within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- The Trust’s lead expert for fire safety providing advice to senior management on all current fire safety legislation and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Lead the fire policy implementation and development of fire management & prevention service policy, service development, within directorate and the Trust.
- To develop and lead on policies, strategies and for implementation of the Trusts’ fire compliance annual mandatory programme. To continually improve reporting systems in order to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Responsible for the annual undertaking of highly complex risk assessments and development of fire plans that need to be delivered to managers across the Trust.
- Chair and hold regular meetings with fire team and clients/users and to address any fire related safety issues raised.
- Full line management responsibility for the fire team, including recruitment, performance management of direct line reports and carryout annual and half yearly PDR reviews.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee fire drills across all Trust locations to ensure effective emergency evacuation procedures are in place.
- Ensure that fire evacuation plans are regularly reviewed, updated, and practiced, particularly for vulnerable patients and staff.
· Ensure the effectiveness of comprehensive fire safety training programme, for all types of staff at all levels in the Trust.
