Technical Designer - Apparel (Endura)
We’re Pentland Brands; a dynamic, global family business, and proud owners and licensees of many iconic active and footwear brands. With a community of over 1,300 team members worldwide, we embrace diversity and inclusion, and champion growth and development. Our success is built on teamwork, courage, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?
The Technical Designer – Apparel supports the Product Creation team by transforming design concepts into accurate, production-ready technical specifications. This role ensures that garments meet brand standards for fit, construction, and quality, working closely with Design, Product Development, and global sourcing teams to deliver consistent and reliable execution.
The mission is to ensure technical accuracy, streamline the development workflow, and help deliver high-quality products that meet consumer expectations.
WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?
As our Technical Designer – Apparel you will be responsible for:
Supporting the creation of detailed technical packages, including measurements, construction details, BOM updates, and graded specifications.
Assisting with fit sessions, documenting changes, and updating patterns and specs to ensure consistent fit and construction across styles.
Collaborating with Design and Product Development to translate creative concepts into feasible, manufacturable garments.
Reviewing prototypes and samples to ensure alignment with design intent, technical accuracy, and quality requirements.
Partnering with global vendors and sourcing teams to communicate technical updates, resolve construction challenges, and ensure timely sample delivery.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data in PLM and related systems throughout the development process.
Supporting continuous improvement in fit blocks, pattern standards, and construction guidelines.
Ensuring all technical documentation is clear, consistent, and aligned with brand standards to support smooth production execution.
WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?
You just might be our next superstar if you have the following skills and experience:
Experience in technical design, garment technology, or pattern development within apparel — ideally performance, sportswear, activewear, or outdoor categories.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, pattern-making fundamentals, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and technical spec creation; experience with 2D/3D pattern software is a plus.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously.
Clear communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with designers, developers, and vendors.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency across all technical documentation.
A passion for craftsmanship, problem-solving, and delivering products that meet both design vision and consumer needs.
We want you to live our company principles, bringing a strong consumer focus, while always looking for ways to improve and grow in your role. Take ownership of your work and be proactive in solving problems whilst communicating openly and treating everyone with respect and kindness. And, of course, let your creativity shine by bringing your unique style and individuality to the Pentland Brands Team.
