Salary : £70,000-£90,000
Location : City of London, Hybrid

The Company
Our client, a respected Lloyd’s market organisation, is looking for a capable and delivery-minded IT Project Manager to take the lead on a broad portfolio of critical technology projects. Operating at the centre of their insurance and regulatory change efforts, this role calls for a structured yet adaptable professional who can manage end-to-end delivery across strategic and compliance-driven programmes.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical and business teams as well as external partners and market stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered with precision and impact. This is an exciting opportunity for someone deeply familiar with the Lloyd’s and London Market landscape who is eager to drive lasting operational change through effective technology management.

Key Responsibilities
Programme Oversight & Execution

  • Oversee the delivery of full-lifecycle technology projects, from concept and business case through to implementation and BAU handover.
  • Apply the most appropriate methodology (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid) to each project context.
  • Establish strong governance protocols including RAID management, programme boards, and stakeholder communication channels.
  • Coordinate resources across departments and vendors to ensure delivery milestones are met.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop trusted relationships with business teams, technical leads, and operational leaders across the client’s organisation.
  • Liaise effectively with market bodies, technology vendors, and other third parties.
  • Deliver consistent project updates, ensure alignment on goals, and facilitate resolution of key issues or risks.

Planning, Control & Risk Management

  • Define and track progress against clear objectives and success measures.
  • Maintain project documentation, including resource plans, timelines, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage change control effectively and ensure traceability of all key decisions.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, escalating where appropriate.

Regulatory & Governance Compliance

  • Ensure delivery meets applicable regulatory expectations (including GDPR, Solvency II, FCA/PRA) and internal standards.
  • Support internal and external audits with clear and accurate project documentation.
  • Keep abreast of relevant market-wide initiatives such as Lloyd’s Blueprint Two.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor spend, and ensure cost control.
  • Work alongside finance and procurement teams to handle supplier contracts, invoices, and related spend.
  • Maintain transparency in reporting financial status to stakeholders.

Closure & Knowledge Transfer

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture outcomes, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure all documentation is finalised and lessons learned are shared.
  • Coordinate smooth transitions into operational ownership.

Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects within the London insurance market or wider financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd’s market structure and regulatory environment.
  • Competence with structured project methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident approach to stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proficient in using tools such as JIRA, MS Project, DevOps, and Confluence.
  • Commercially astute with strong supplier and budget oversight experience.
  • Resilient and composed when navigating complexity and change.

Desirable Background

  • Experience in large-scale systems delivery or digital transformation.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Eclipse, Guidewire, or Sequel.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory programmes including Lloyd’s Blueprint Two, Solvency II, GDPR, and FCA/PRA.
  • Recognised qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or Agile certifications.
