Senior Manager, UK & European Audit at UMPG is positioned to lead the audit function adjacent to and with support from a world- class Royalty team whose key goal is to ensure fast and accurate royalty accounting to songwriters.
Reporting to the VP UK and European Administration, the role encompasses fulfilling the end-to-end audit process . The position is rich in opportunity for involvement with the company’s biggest deals, signings, and international projects.
How You’ll Create
- Lead au dit process from receipt of audit notice, preparing for audit fieldwork, support during fieldwork and responding to audit reports .
- Develop the audit communication process including building templates for external correspondence , necessary internal messaging and approvals .
- Review and manage internal audit processes ensuring appropriate compliance measures are met.
- Collate and feedback any learning opportunities as a result of audit findings to enable continuous improvement within UMPG.
- Generate royalty datasets and enhanced statements.
- Generate an d prepare royalty suspense reports .
- Organize and prepare source document files for audit fieldwork .
- Organize and prepare synch documentation .
- Review, redact, and prepare documents to send to auditors following their fieldwork .
- Lead and undertake research of audit claims .
- Liaise with Business Affairs to create settlement agreements.
- Manage the regular audit status reporting function for senior management.
- Perform and develop ad hoc reporting and royalty audit projects as needed .
Bring Your Vibe
- You will have a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the music or media industries .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required .
- Proven ability to lead a business function.
- Expertise in managing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel and text editors required .
- Strong organization skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and attention to detail are required .
- Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately while managing competing priorities is required .
- Finance qualification desirable but not essential.
