Maternity Nurse

An experienced Nightly Maternity Nurse is required in Barnes, London, to care for a 7-week-old baby girl, providing overnight feeding, settling and gentle sleep routine support.

Job Summary

A lovely first-time family in Barnes are seeking a calm, confident Nightly Maternity Nurse to support them with their 7-week-old daughter. The family are looking for someone experienced in newborn care who can take responsibility overnight, allowing the parents to enjoy some much-needed rest. The baby is currently feeding regularly overnight, and Mum will provide expressed breast milk for feeds. The family would welcome gentle guidance on settling and establishing positive sleep habits as their daughter develops, with a flexible, baby-led approach. The booking is for two nights per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, over approximately 6–8 weeks. The family would particularly appreciate an immediate start.

Job Specification
• Provide attentive overnight care for the baby.
• Manage overnight feeds using expressed breast milk.
• Support settling and age-appropriate sleep routines.
• Encourage healthy sleep habits with a gentle approach.
• Manage nappy changes and overnight baby care.
• Maintain a calm and reassuring overnight environment.
• Provide a clear handover to parents each morning.

Candidate Specification
• Experienced Nightly Maternity Nurse with strong newborn knowledge.
• Confident caring for babies of a similar age.
• Good understanding of infant sleep and settling.
• Experienced handling expressed breast milk safely.
• Calm, nurturing and reassuring.
• Reliable, discreet and professional.
• Available for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility for initial Friday cover.

Accommodation: Sofa bed provided in the room with the baby.
