Teaching Assistant - SEN (Full Time)

Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September
Pay: 1,700 - 2,100 per month
Veritas Education are working with an academy trust in Newham looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from September at the start of the new academic year.
This is a full-time position, working 1:1 with a Reception pupil who has mild to high SEN needs and will be new to the school.
Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable. Recent graduates with an interest in SEN, psychology or education are also encouraged to apply.

Main Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching Assistant (SEN)Support for Pupils
Provide 1:1 SEN support in Reception
Support academic progress under the direction of the class teacher and Inclusion Lead
Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Deliver targeted 1:1 or small group interventions
Build positive relationships and promote inclusion
Support for Teachers
Help create a structured, safe and supportive classroom environment
Use agreed strategies to support learning goals
Work closely with the teacher to organise and adapt learning activities
Essential
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
Experience supporting children in a school or SEN setting
Desirable
Degree (2:1 preferred) or equivalent
Interest in SEN, psychology or child development
