Overview
- We are seeking a competent, experienced, and passionate Project Manager to oversee the running of security-related system installations throughout the UK and occasionally abroad, covering CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and Entry Systems.
- Average project values range from £5k for small works to £250k+ for Major projects, sometimes larger to £1M+.
- Typically up to a total of £1m - £1.5m per year.
The role
- Working as part of the Projects Delivery team, ensuring a range of concurrent installations are carried out to specification, on time, and on budget.
- Working in accordance with ISO:9001 procedures and best practises and NSI codes of practise.
- Complete pre-project reviews with assigned Installation Managers
- Carry out commercial and technical reviews as part of handover process
- Carry out pre-start meetings & surveys with assistance from Installation Managers
- Create and issue project plans, confirming external prerequisites and external impacts
- Request/create purchase orders in line with standard procurement process
- Create, review, and submit RAMS with assistance from Installation Manager
- Manage any escalated health & safety risks & issues
- Manage any required project variations, quoting for additional works as needed
- Effectively communicate regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and management
- Escalate any technical problems/queries to internal Technical Services Department
- Ensure project deliverables meet with agreed specifications & design
- Manage and control internal labour budgets and external purchasing budgets
- Manage and submit payment applications and project invoicing
- Accurately report and forecast on works-in-progress (WIP)
- Manage collation of as-built information into project Operation & Maintenance Manuals
- Complete post-project reviews with the Installation Managers
What you'll have / be
- Good experience in project management from this industry
- A good understanding and sound technical working knowledge of:-
- Security-related system installations
- Electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical principles
- Basic networking principles
- Experience leading/managing engineers
- Flexibility on working hours and locations to suit project requirements
- A good team player with the ability to work under own initiative
- A valid driving licence
- Clear criminal record and 10-year checkable employment history
- A good awareness of current Health and Safety legislation (such as COSHH, CDM, IOSH)
- Microsoft Visio or CAD experience (drawing mark-ups) highly benefital
