Area Sales Director
Job Title: Area Sales Director - East of England (from Northeast down to Southeast England including London)
Location: Remote (within region)
As Area Sales Director at Royal Mail Group, you will lead a geographic sales team for the East of England to drive revenue growth, retain existing contracts, and achieve commercial targets. You’ll lead a team of Regional Sales Managers & Sales Centre Managers and up to 85 frontline sales professionals. Working collaboratively with commercial, marketing, product development, and other functions you’ll develop and implement sales and customer strategies that align with wider business commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement area sales strategies that align with business goals and revenue targets ensuring it mitigates competitor challenges
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure a competitive market position
- Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and sales performance metrics to provide accurate forecasting and reporting
- Lead and manage the sales team, providing coaching, training, and performance management to ensure they achieve their targets and deliver outstanding customer service
- Oversee sales budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, providing accurate reporting
- Collaborate with commercial, product, and marketing teams to launch new products and campaigns
- Represent the company at industry events to enhance brand presence
- Develop and manage sales incentives and commission schemes
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and adjust strategies accordingly
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience managing large sales teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills with experience in business development and financial analysis
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence at senior levels and build lasting customer relationships.
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and project management abilities.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and commercially savvy
