Senior Finance Consultant
We are seeking a qualified and experienced qualified Senior Finance Consultant for a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC) role, with the potential for permanent placement, to support the finance function during a period of change and to help take our finance function to the next level.
The role supports the Group Finance Director in managing financial processes, analysis and reporting across the organisation and the role will lead on various key finance projects.
The successful candidate will be required to have strong financial analysis and technical accounting skills coupled with strong leadership to deliver meaningful change and improvement in the function. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the role will provide the successful candidate with insight into the investment and wealth management sectors as well as the opportunity to work in a private equity backed.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Group Finance Director to implement a best-in-class finance practice and discipline across the organisation. A strong background in financial control and reporting is a prerequisite. This role is very much hands-on, and incumbent must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
This role is a hybrid role with 3 days per week based from our London office.

What you’ll do in a Senior Finance role:
- Financial Reporting: Work closely with the finance team to produce accurate financial information (including but not limited to external and internal reporting, audits and monthly P&L, BS and CF consolidation as well as FY and Interim reporting cycles)
- Instil formal review cultural: Foster a culture of formal review for financial data.
- Work closely with the Group Finance Director to establish and enforce robust financial reporting controls, minimizing risks and enhancing accuracy and reliability
- Prepare monthly management accounts packs. Ensuring business transactions recorded conform to IFRS.
- Prepare technical accounting papers on complex accounting issues and assist the finance director in the decision-making process
- Reconciliation: Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations with zero tolerance for variances and unknowns.
- VAT Return Process: Assist in managing the VAT return process and supporting the wider business in understanding and administering VAT arrangements.
- Lead VAT review project across the group
- Tax and Treasury Support: Collaborate with the external corporate tax team and company advisors to complete annual tax returns and support the company's treasury processes.
- Consolidated Financial Statements: Produce consolidated statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards. Filing statutory audited accounts for circa 30 UK legal entities in the Kingswood group
- Audit Support: Contribute to the annual audit process, working with the external audit team to deliver a quality audit. Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit processes and addressing any inquiries or concerns that arise. Coordinate statutory audit timetable to ensure timely filing.
- Deliver Regulatory submissions and Capital / Liquidity planning activities
- Entity Closure and Separation Projects: Lead the wind-up of legal entities and contribute to the entity separation project during the group’s restructuring.
- Play a leading role in the entity separation project as the group goes through restructuring changes
- Collaborate with the Finance Team: Work as an integral part of the finance team, supporting continuous improvement and fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Build Relationships: Establish strong relationships within the finance team and across the organisation to share best practices and encourage a "one team" mindset.
- Contribute to Projects: Participate in finance improvement and system replacement projects, working with the Finance Projects team to successfully deliver projects.
- Variance Analysis: Analyse monthly financial performance, providing narrative to explain variances in people and operating costs.
- Provide support to the Group Finance Director in preparation of EXCO and Risk committee packs
- Ad Hoc Projects: Assist the Group Finance Director and work with CFO and Head of FP&A on ad hoc projects as necessary.

What we’re looking for:
- Qualified accountant with a strong commercial mindset (ACA or ACCA )
- Strong technical accounting background, solid understanding of IFRS and UK/US GAAP
- Self-starter willing to roll up sleeves and get things done
- Confident and effective communicator with the ability to build rapport and work with people at all levels
- Effective organisational ability and time management skills are
- Structured thinker with the ability to make complex things simple
- Continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo
- Experience of working in a highly pressured dynamic environment
- Must be adaptable
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, and an exceptional eye for detail
- XERO, Datarails, CaseWare, ApprovalMax – highly desirable
