Montessori Teacher

We require a *fully qualified Montessori teacher or person shortly completing the Montessori Diploma course* for our new school in Wimbledon Park. You will have responsibility for your own group of key children, planning interesting activities and outings for them and ensuring that they have an enjoyable and meaningful time at the school. You will need to follow both the Montessori curriculum and the EYFS and complete a learning journey for each of your key children.

The school is in a single storey building in the middle of a lovely park and has two classrooms. Each room has three lead teachers who share the key children. We have visiting specialist teachers who come to teach vocational classes and staff from our other branch who give support in our art programmes, additional needs and philosophy for children.

We run for three terms (38 weeks) and have a further nine weeks of creative holiday school. All the teachers have 7 weeks holiday, set out as two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter, two weeks in August, with a further two weeks selected by the teacher throughout the year (during our holiday school periods). This enables teachers to have a working pattern that is manageable for them as individuals.

Our core day runs from 8.45am until 3.00pm, with wrap around care between 8.00am and 8.45am and 3.00pm until 6.30pm. Teachers work a set rota (regular weekly days) covering the early morning start and the later evening finish, usually on a set pattern of 8.00am until 4.30pm on 3 days and 8.30 until 6.30pm on two days.

We have a smart, professional dress code and you should have fluent spoken and written English. We are looking for someone who loves working with young children and is keen to deliver our broad curriculum.

The start date for the position is as soon as possible with a preference for the May / June, but this is flexible - we will be happy to wait for the right person.

Interviews will be held over Zoom initially followed by a visit to the school. Please, when applying please note, we are not able to employ you with out the Montessori Diploma or near completion of it.
