A community run SEN school in Lewisham are looking to add to their team in a KS3 class. This school is rated outstanding by Ofsted and hold provision for students from the ages of 4-19. In this role, you will be responsible for students, who have a diagnosis of ASD/SLD.

We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, SEN Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Lewisham specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as an SEN Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, and social skills.

The School

The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Lewisham with severe learning differences. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills using a student - centred curriculum.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs based on a curriculum that centres around students needs.

- Work with individualised care plans to maximise student potential, development and success.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the SEN Teacher in the classroom.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.

- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom

SEN Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
