Payroll Administrator

Role Summary
Join our payroll team as a Payroll Administrator, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring our 3,500+ employees across Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People are paid accurately and on time in the UK and EU. This fast-paced role is perfect for a highly organised professional with a sharp eye for detail and precision with data entry. What the Payroll Administrator will be doing:
- Ownership of monthly payroll data (via Payroll system), such as starters, leavers, and changes.
- Maintenance of the timekeeping system (Kronos) for starters, leavers, and changes.
- Preparation and posting of journals and full reconciliation.
- Assisting with pension queries (automatic enrolment and opt-out).
- Maintain and develop relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Work closely with HR to support with benefit processes, pre and post payroll processing.
- Ensure all payroll related issues are handled in the most efficient and timely manner possible.
- Assist the wider payroll team with any other ad-hoc tasks.
- Keep up to date with new legislation, ensuring policies and procedures are correctly in place and documented.
- Liaise with HM Revenue and Customs.
- Proactively audit the payroll information received to ensure there is appropriate authorisation.
- Ensure all colleagues are paid in accordance with agreed timetables.
- Knowledge of manual payroll calculations, PAYE/NIC and statutory payments when running payrolls e.g., redundancy, SMP/SAP, SPP and SSP.
- Help where necessary with current projects to deliver corporate objectives.
- Look at current issues; feel confident to make suggestions on where to resolve.
- Ensuring operational service reviews take place monthly to ensure the delivery standards are managed against the service level agreements.
- Comply with internal and external audit requirements.
What Urban Outfitters is looking for:
- Proven experience working with either EU or UK Payroll Administration.
- Enthusiastic about payroll and willing to learn and grow your payroll knowledge.
- A can-do attitude and enjoy working with and supporting our people.
- Able to work and engage with others in a fast-paced payroll office in a timely manner.
- Able to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines to ensure everyone is paid correctly and on time.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with different processes per brand and country.
- Understanding and knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills.
- Curious with the confidence to challenge the current process to drive positive change.
