Salary: £85–£115 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role
A supportive and inclusive school based in Southall, West London is seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN support team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children who require additional support and who is committed to inclusive education.
The role will involve working with pupils across the primary or secondary age range who have a variety of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties . Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis , within small intervention groups , or in a classroom setting, depending on pupil needs.
The school has a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and early intervention, and provides a structured and supportive environment for both pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN
Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning
Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral staff
Support pupils with emotional regulation and social interaction
Promote positive behaviour using consistent, agreed approaches
Adapt learning resources to meet individual learning needs
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and break times
Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Maintain safeguarding standards and promote pupil wellbeing

Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or additional needs
A basic understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (But Not Essential)
SEN or education-related qualifications
Team Teach or behaviour management training
Experience working in specialist provisions or SEN units
Background in education, psychology, care, or youth work
