Commodities Middle Office Lead Analyst, VP

Focus primarily on the Structured Notes desk and contribute to the efficient execution of high-volume trades across global markets.

Team/Role Overview:

Citi Market Operations is undergoing a significant transformation, creating exciting opportunities for growth and development. Our Global FICC Structured Middle Office team plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of trades across various markets, including Structured Notes, Exotic Derivatives, Rates, Spread, and various commodities. We are a dynamic, global team with a presence in over 60 countries. As a Lead Analyst, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team, collaborate with Sales & Trading, and contribute to process improvements within a fast-paced and challenging environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading, focusing on derivatives and securities transactions, specifically Structured Notes.
  • Maintain accurate position records in coordination with trading desk assistants and trade processing functions.
  • Support trade capture management, front-to-back reconciliation, operational risk identification, trade confirmation, and settlement forecasts.
  • Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to recommend process improvements to senior management.
  • Design and analyze complex reports to support control activities and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Interpret data to recommend new products/services or platform upgrades that enhance pre-settlement processes and transaction capture.
  • Minimize bank risk by providing solutions to reduce errors and ensuring adherence to audit and control policies.
  • Manage, escalate, and resolve requests, inquiries, issues, and errors, identifying and addressing policy gaps to streamline processes.
  • Provide informal guidance and on-the-job training to new team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup's assets by complying with applicable laws and regulations, adhering to policy, and escalating control issues transparently.
