Property Claims Handler (Hybrid - 80-100%)

About the Role
As a Property Claims Handler, you will be responsible for the professional handling of a portfolio of International Programme Property, Property and Engineering claims underwritten in the UK Wholesale and Retail markets. You'll be at the forefront of our commitment to excellence, managing diverse property claims while providing outstanding service to our clients during their time of need. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex situations with confidence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse portfolio of property claims of varying severity within defined technical authority from first advice through to settlement, including coverage review, fact investigation, loss evaluation, and designing and executing appropriate claim resolution strategies
- Select, direct and manage external experts and vendors, including working with them to set appropriate budgets and effectively manage costs
- Provide accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties have the information needed for informed decision-making
- Deliver practical claims insights and input to internal collaborators, including underwriters, sales and risk engineering teams
- Keep Claim Management informed of loss potential and material claim developments, consistent with the Claim Handling Expectations and Standard Operating Procedures
About the Team
The UK property claims team is based in London & Manchester and comprises 6 claims professionals of different backgrounds and fields, handling losses in the wholesale and retail markets across all the main lines of business. We believe that the way in which claims are handled, through the delivery of our Corporate Solutions Claims Commitment, can be a key differentiator and enables us to provide a unique and de-commoditised service to our customers.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 3+ years Property or International Programme Property Claims or Insurance Industry experience working in the primary insurance market
- Solid coverage, investigation, loss evaluation and claim valuation skills
- Ability to engage and lead external experts, including proactive cost management skills
- Solid computer skills including proficiency in MS Office suite, MS Outlook, and digital tools for research and investigation
- Experience with data visualization tools and the ability to present data-driven insights to diverse stakeholders
- Solid understanding of underwriting and other insurance functions
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and data-driven decision-making
- Experience working with AI-enhanced systems for claims processing and investigation
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For London, the base salary range for this position is between 50 000 GBP and 76 000 GBP for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
