Design & Technology Technician - Wembley
A forward-thinking and well-resourced secondary school in Wembley is seeking a skilled and proactive Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support their successful DT department. This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a practical, creative, and collaborative environment.
About the Role
As a DT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff and students during practical lessons. You will be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that workshop spaces are safe, organised, and ready for learning.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a sound understanding of workshop tools and safety procedures. You will work closely with the Head of Department and teaching staff to ensure practical lessons run efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing tools, materials, and equipment for practical DT lessons
• Setting up and clearing workshops and classrooms
• Maintaining machinery and ensuring safe storage of equipment
• Supporting teachers and students during practical sessions
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assisting with departmental displays and project preparation

Experience and Qualifications
• Previous experience in a DT Technician or workshop-based role desirable

• Legal right to work in the UK
