A specialist technology-focused school in Woolwich is seeking a Science Technician to join its practical Science provision immediately. The successful candidate will support teachers with experiments and ensure equipment is prepared and maintained to a high standard.
The Role
Prepare practical resources: Set up apparatus and materials for daily Science lessons.
Support practical demonstrations: Assist teachers with demonstrations and investigations.
Maintain equipment: Ensure scientific apparatus is clean, functional and safely stored.
Monitor laboratory supplies: Keep accurate records of consumables and equipment.
Assist with preparation: Support the department before and after practical sessions.
Maintain safety standards: Follow established laboratory procedures and risk assessments.
The Candidate
Science knowledge: A relevant Science qualification or practical experience is desirable.
Technically minded: Comfortable working with scientific equipment.
Organised: Can prioritise work according to the school timetable.
Detail focused: Takes care with preparation and equipment management.
Safety conscious: Understands safe working practices.
Team player: Enjoys supporting teachers and working as part of a department.
