2027 Investment Management Off-Cycle Internship - International Consultant Relations (London)

The International Consultant Relations team is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Global sales force. They are responsible for ensuring that investment consultants understand, rate and recommend MSIM's strategies, while partnering with sales colleagues and investment teams to turn those relationships into business opportunities. There will be strong collaboration within the team, but also a large degree of independence required for this role, as client facing team members are often travelling.
Placement and duration
The Off-Cycle Internship is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere in the Investment Management Division by taking on some of the responsibilities and functions of a Full-time Analyst for a short period.
The internship will commence in January 2027 and typically lasts six months. This internship will offer you an exciting and a dynamic work environment where you get to work alongside our diverse group of experienced professionals. The work that you do will be interesting and varied.
Training Program
You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance of consultant records, sales pipeline and marketing distribution lists
- Liaise with internal business units to ensure marketing, operational, legal and reporting needs are met
- Support on responding to external queries seeking data, excel templates, fund information and due diligence reports
- Supporting the client facing individuals with preparation ahead of, and after meetings
- Assistance with market mapping and research across the asset management landscape
- Leading on project-based tasks to enhance the Consultant Relations teams’ processes and performance
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent academic background and have graduated from university or able to take the time off to commit for a full-time internship role for six months if you are currently in study
- Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A keen interest in working in investment management and sales
- Strong analytical and numerical skills and feel comfortable working with large data sets
- Detail orientated and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently and effectively
- Track record of being proactive, self-motivated and goal orientated
- Proven team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the team, MSIM and the broader organisation
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) is a plus
