Sustainability Coordinator - Ethical Trade

What you’ll be doing

This is your chance to become part of the Selfridges sustainability team, pioneers in sustainability. The Sustainability Coordinator: Ethical Trade & Human Rights will play a key role in supporting due diligence and driving transparency across our brands and suppliers, working closely with key stakeholders to help deliver our objectives relating to ethical trade.

Supplier due diligence

Run the supplier due diligence assessment pathway, from eligibility to corrective action plan reports (CAPR).

Working directly with our external self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) partner to increase SAQ completion rates.

Support the Senior Responsible Sourcing Manager to deliver Selfridges social audit programme. To include, supplier identification, liaising with external partner, CAPR and record maintenance.

Support the Senior Responsible Sourcing Manager to deliver various supplier-focused ‘beyond audit’ programmes.

Create supplier-focused resources to support development and risk-management.

Create and maintain trackers on supplier performance.

Report on supplier assessment progress and risk status.

Stakeholder engagement:

Work closely with key stakeholders, responding to queries and offering support to internal procurement, food, and buying teams, supplier partners, as well as Selfridges Group.

Build and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure completion of our SAQ.

Be the point of contact for queries relating to supplier due diligence.

Support working groups on the risk status of the supply base.

Liaise with key membership institutions to help advance our ethical trade agenda.

Support internal systems, processes and reporting:

Support the development and implementation of our ethical trade and human rights policies

Maintain and improve systems and processes to support the delivery of key initiatives.

Support the Senior Responsible Sourcing Manager with data compilation, reporting and supplier outreach.

Support the delivery of the annual Modern Slavery Statement.

Create and update internal and external guidance to support the progression of key initiatives, including communication packs.

Support the development and logistics of internal learning modules.

Undertake desk-based research on a range of sustainability subjects.

Administration relating to all initiatives including setting up meetings, raising purchase orders, taking meeting notes.

A bit about you

Preferred

Undergraduate degree in Sustainability, Fashion, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience in human rights and ethical trade frameworks and standards.

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint).

Desirable

Experience of reporting and project management.

Experience working in supply chain management, buying, or sustainability, ideally within fashion or luxury retail.

An awareness of the legislative landscape relating to human rights due diligence e.g. Modern slavery act 2015.
