We are seeking an Electroplater to join our Aircraft Landing Gear Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the surface treatment of aircraft landing gear components, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards for safety and durability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
All employees are required to use the Integrated Quality Management System IQ Move; internal training will be given to the successful candidate.
- Proven ability to understand and interpret process standard practices, drawings and Company Job cards.
- Previous experience to undertake Material Handling to include workshop Gantry cranes and slings.
- Previous experience in preparation of parts for electroplating (Masking techniques etc.)
- Previous experience to undertake surface preparation by Grit Blasting techniques would be an advantage but not essential.
- The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in a range of the following electroplating processes:
- Cadmium Plate and Dalic Cadmium plate
- Nickel plating
- Hard Chrome plating
- Alocrom
- Nital etch (Acid Etch inspection) o Heat Treatment of components
- Responsible to complete work in line with technical instructions and to the correct quality standards.
- Ability to complete work in a manner that satisfies Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- A good understanding of environmental issues associated with Electroplating Industry.
- Previous Knowledge of information related to the COMAH would be an advantage although training will be given to the successful candidate.
- You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record of jobs completed (PER) book.
- You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
- All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined above you will be expected to carry out any other reasonable activities as required by your line manager.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required:
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
- Related training by the IMF would be an advantage but not essential.
- To have worked within a Plating shop environment.
- Have a basic understanding of processes and procedures associated with Electroplating.
- Experience of working in an EASA 145 environment.
- A strong team player.
- Able to communicate with all levels of Management.
- Willingness to learn new skills to help the Company achieve its targets.
- Must have a moderate level of PC literacy.
Working Conditions:
- Factory shop floor, based in Hayes
- Full time role, 4 on 4 off shift.
- Potential travel required
