Are you an experienced teaching assistant passionate about supporting young learners in a vibrant primary school environment? If so, this opportunity in London could be perfect for you! A well-regarded Primary School in the Borough of Newham is seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join their team from September 2025. This is a term-time only role paid on a daily rate. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality support to students in various subjects for KS1/KS2 year groups.
Assist in planning and preparing lessons and resources
Support students with learning difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis, particularly those who need the additional help.
Assist the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
Monitoring behaviour and students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Assist with extracurricular activities and school events.
Provide temporary cover across the school, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to ensure continuity in the absence of the regular teacher. Requirements for the ideal candidate: A recognised HLTA qualification is desired but not essential, providing you have extensive experience in the role.
Previous experience working in a primary school
Strong experience working with children with SEN.
Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual children.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work both independently and part of a team.
