Senior War & Terrorism Underwriter – Market Lead
Location: London (Hybrid – 3-4 Days/Week)

I am delighted to be working with a leading (re)insurance group that’s looking for a Senior Terrorism Underwriter to step into a key market-facing position . This is an opportunity to help further shape and develop a global portfolio , working across Delegated Authority and Open Market business with serious backing behind you.
There is significant GWP growth planned in 2025 and extremely generous line size available to maintain lead on desired business and marquee War & Terrorism accounts. The team already have excellent broker access, and international reach but are looking to add to this with another Senior Underwriter with 1 st class relationships and entrepreneurial mindset to drive it forward.
What they’re looking for:
- A strong technical underwriter with deep War & Terrorism experience.
- Someone with a credible market presence and a proven track record with brokers.
- Ideally, you’ll bring wording development experience – extended perils, product innovation, brand awareness – all huge pluses.
- Comfortable in a senior leadership setting , speaking strategy and portfolio with both management and reinsurance teams.
- Experience working with broker facilities and global distribution channels .
- Full suite of target programmes including Industrial and manufacturing sector expertise.
- Someone who enjoys getting out in the market – traveling, building relationships, and understanding local risk perception by attending exhibitions and conferences.
The Role:
- Lead underwriting strategy across a global portfolio.
- Work closely with brokers to define and meet business plans.
- Engage cross-functionally with RI teams, wordings specialists, and senior leadership .
- Represent the brand at key events and industry forums.
- Flexibility is part of the culture – they support hybrid working (3-4 days/week in London) .
