The salary for this Lead Education Child Protection Practitioner job is up to £53,607 per annum.

Main duties:

* This post holder will possess the authority, confidence, and experience to make autonomous decisions in challenging and complex family situations. They will be responsible for producing high-quality reports that reflect their education expertise and can stand alone as an expert assessment in various forums, including initial child protection conferences and court arena.
* The post holder will have an applied understanding of what constitutes a child suffering actual or likely significant harm. To consider the severity, duration and frequency of any abuse, degree of threat, coercion, or cruelty, the significance of others in the child's world, including all adults and children in contact with the child.
* The post holder will have skills to share their thinking and insight into the child and adults involved in the case. The post holder will share their proposed recommendations with other practitioners who hold relevant information and will participate in joint deliberations before making a final decision about the likelihood of significant harm.
* Where it is appropriate for the child to attend the child protection conference, at the same time as the parents, the post holder will support the planning around the child's attendance through liaison between the education establishment and the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team
* The post holder will ensure the appropriate education practitioner shares a report in advance of the conference, with both the family and the professional network.
* The post will maintain oversight of the child protection process, providing advice and consultation to the education practitioner involved who will attend the conference. Where there is no named education establishment/practitioner and the child us of age to access education, the post holder will attend on behalf of education.
* The post holder will support the education practitioner to make a recommendation upon which category of abuse or neglect the child being considered at a child protection conference has suffered or is likely to suffer. The category must indicate the primary concerns present when the child became the subject of a child protection plan.
* The post holder will oversee education's role in the delivery and participation of all child protection plans, ensuring actions are completed, providing consultation, advice and support where necessary.
* The post holder will monitor the effectiveness of child protection conference, progression of the Child Protection Plan and education role within the arrangements.

Requirements of this Lead Education Child Protection Practitioner job:

* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
