Director - Town Planning

The OpportunityAs Director of Planning, you will lead on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, mixed–use, strategic land, and regeneration sectors. Working closely with senior stakeholders, landowners, developers, and local authorities, you will provide expert planning advice while helping to expand the firm's presence and influence across London and the South East.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage complex planning projects from inception through to delivery.
- Provide strategic planning advice to a broad range of private and public sector clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for business growth.
- Prepare, review, and oversee planning appraisals, applications, appeals, and representations.
- Lead negotiations with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultees.
- Support business development initiatives, networking activities, and profile–raising opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid–level planning professionals.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and leadership of the wider planning team.
- MRTPI qualified with substantial post–qualification experience.
- Proven track record within a planning consultancy, property consultancy, developer, or local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
- Demonstrable experience managing major planning applications and development projects.
- Established client network and business development capability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Commercially aware with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
