VP of AI
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a VP of AI to lead Nexar’s end-to-end AI strategy and execution, from frontier AI model research to production systems deployed across millions of vehicles and in the cloud. This leader will define and scale Nexar’s AI roadmap across computer vision, multimodal foundation models, and autonomous driving intelligence, while leading and growing a team of world-class researchers and engineers working on some of the largest real-world driving datasets in the world. In addition, this leader will be responsible for translating cutting-edge AI research into scalable, production-ready systems powering driver safety, road understanding, and autonomous mobility.
This role requires a rare combination of deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and product thinking, bridging research, infrastructure, and real-world deployment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and lead Nexar’s AI strategy, advancing the company’s capabilities in computer vision, multimodal learning, and frontier AI models for real-world driving environments.
Drive and accelerate the development of Nexar's BADAS State-of-the-Art AI models, to power ADAS, Autonomous Driving, Risk Assessment, and a lot more, while leveraging the company’s enormous data scale.
Translate cutting-edge research into production, delivering scalable AI models deployed across Nexar’s platform and edge devices.
Grow and lead a world-class AI organization, attracting and mentoring top researchers and engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and impact.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure AI advancements translate into meaningful product capabilities.
Represent Nexar externally as an AI leader, contributing to the broader AI ecosystem and positioning Nexar at the forefront of AI for mobility.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills & qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related field.
10+ years experience building and deploying AI-based production systems, ideally in computer vision, multimodal AI, or large-scale data environments, including leadership roles.
Proven track record leading and scaling AI / ML organizations.
Deep expertise in areas such as:
Computer vision and video understanding
Multimodal AI models and visual language models (VLMs)
Large-scale deep learning and frontier AI models
Distributed training and large-scale ML infrastructure
Experience in Autonomous Driving, ADAS, Robotics or other Physical AI applications is a must.
Strong track record of translating advanced AI research into scalable production systems deployed at scale.
