HR Business Partner – Local Government
Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 3 months initially (with potential extension)
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in South London office
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join a local government authority on an initial 3-month contract. This role will provide strategic and operational HR support across a range of services, with a strong focus on employee relations, organisational change, and transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted HR advisor, supporting managers across all people-related matters.
- Manage complex employee relations casework with confidence, ensuring best practice and compliance.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver workforce planning and change management initiatives.
- Support organisational transformation programmes, driving cultural and structural improvements.
- Produce clear, insightful HR reports and data analysis to inform leadership decision-making.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies and processes in line with local authority objectives.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Prior experience working within a local government authority (essential).
- Proven track record as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex ER cases and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Experience of supporting organisational change and transformation.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
