Contract: Freelance (with potential for permanent role within 12 months) About Us We are a dynamic and expanding principal contractor specialising in air space developments across central London. Our projects combine innovation, quality, and precision in complex urban environments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Site Manager to join our team on a prestigious project in SE1, with excellent long-term opportunities for career progression. The Role This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. You will take day-to-day responsibility for the smooth running of the site, coordinating directly with subcontractors, residents, and our internal project team. Key responsibilities include: * Overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality. * Managing and motivating a small on-site team and subcontractors. * Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, CDM requirements, and company procedures. * Liaising with local stakeholders, including residents and local authorities. * Planning and coordinating deliveries, crane operations, and logistics in tight city-centre conditions. * Maintaining detailed site records, reporting progress, and addressing issues proactively. About You We’re looking for a practical, proactive Site Manager who enjoys being hands-on and leading by example. Essential skills and experience: * Strong Health & Safety and CDM knowledge. * Proven experience managing construction sites, ideally in air space, rooftop, or complex urban developments. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both site teams and external stakeholders. * Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and maintain a well-organised site. Desirable: * Experience with crane logistics and highways management in constrained city environments. * SMSTS / CSCS certification or equivalent.
