Head of UTC - King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)
SELDOC is a GP co-operative operating across South London. We are extremely proud to have provided high quality services for 2 million patients over the past 30 years. SELDOC is seeking an exceptional and accomplished NHS leader to join the organisation as Head of Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a significant senior leadership opportunity for an experienced operational and service transformation leader with a proven track record of delivering high-quality NHS services within complex urgent and emergency care environments. Based at one of London's busiest acute hospital sites, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for SELDOCs Urgent Treatment Centre services, ensuring the delivery of safe, responsive, and high performing patient care. The role will lead service improvement, operational resilience, workforce leadership, and system collaboration across the wider urgent and emergency care pathway. You will work closely with senior clinical leaders, Emergency Department colleagues, commissioners, and system partners to drive performance, improve patient outcomes, and support the continued evolution of integrated urgent care services. Key Responsibilities Provide visible and effective leadership across all aspects of UTC operational delivery. Ensure services consistently reflect SELDOCs core value of Patient First. Deliver UTC services safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual KPIs, quality standards, and agreed financial frameworks. Lead continuous improvement programs to support the timely management and discharge of Type 3 patients, with a strategic focus on achieving two hour turnaround performance while maintaining resilience against demand surges and operational pressures. Maintain and further develop a high quality service capable of sustaining a CQC rating of Good or above. Foster a high performing, values driven culture that promotes accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and professional excellence. Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Emergency Department leadership teams, commissioners, and wider health system stakeholders. Support innovation, transformation, and service redesign initiatives aligned to the future direction of urgent and emergency care. The successful candidate will bring substantial senior management experience within NHS operational services, alongside demonstrable expertise in performance improvement, people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and service transformation. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the leadership of a critical frontline healthcare service and to make a meaningful impact on patient care across South East London.
