We are currently looking to appoint a digital content officer to support the senior digital communications and campaigns to create content which will aid in the implementation of the union’s social media strategy in order to recruit, retain and engage/mobilise members, engage and influence stakeholders, and celebrate the union’s success. The successful candidate will lead on creating a variety of high-quality digital content for a range of platforms to promote the union’s campaigns, build awareness of organising efforts, promote benefits and resources to a range of audiences and to grow digital engagement.

You will be responsible under the senior digital communications and campaigns officer, for managing the creation of digital content for use across the union’s social media, marketing and digital campaigns, specialising in video production, including script writing, filming and video editing. You will have a proactive approach to creating content, using analytical tools to spot opportunities to increase engagement and create on-message content which will recruit, retain and influence, coordinated with the wider communications and campaigns directorate..

Prospective applicants are also advised that your normal place of work will be the NEU office specified in this advert and that the NEU operates ‘blended working arrangements’ for office-based staff, which means you will typically need to be based in the designated NEU office for three to four days a week (based on a full-time contract), with the remaining days based at home, and subject to business needs.

In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including 33 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
