Endoscopy Supervisor (Band 4)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised Supervisor to join our busy Endoscopy Department at Denmark Hill. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient administrative service within the Endoscopy team.

The role involves providing comprehensive support to the administrative team, establishing and monitoring robust administrative processes, and overseeing the coordination of diagnostic, therapeutic, and planned patient pathways. You will also be responsible for managing incoming queries and troubleshooting day-to-day administrative issues to ensure the smooth running of the service.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in an administrative role within the NHS, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. You must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, and confidently prioritise your workload in a demanding environment.
Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all administrative processes within the Endoscopy service are delivered in a timely, accurate, and high-quality manner, supporting both staff and patients. The post holder will ensure that robust and effective administrative systems and processes are in place and consistently maintained.
They will provide leadership to the administrative team while remaining an active member of it, working closely with the Team Leader and clinical staff to support the smooth and efficient running of the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. To establish and monitor administrative processes and the administration team.
2. To ensure that all activity is accurately recorded on EPIC.
3. To manage and monitor the services Work queues, in line with Trust policy and meeting national and local targets.
4. To accurately record patients and regularly validate lists in line with Trust policy where appropriate.
5. To liaise with Consultants and nursing staff to ensure full utilisation and appropriately utilisation.
6. To ensure that all patients are contacted in a timely manner and appropriately to the patients needs.
7. To agree clear policies with clinical staff e.g. booking leave, the management of patient DNAs, etc. and ensure that these are adhered to.
8. To be a role model for the administration team supporting them to ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
9. To build effective working relationships and liaise as necessary with external teams.
10. To monitor the administrative workload, and to delegate and escalate as appropriate.

- Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience

- Understanding of NHS policies and procedures experience of working in post with similar responsibilities
Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria
- Effective in managing own time and effectively accommodate ad hoc demands to existing workload
- Intermediate computer literacy, including monitoring and entering data in spreadsheets and databases, analysis and report production
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
