Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons: You will create engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all Year 2 pupils, promoting curiosity, progress, and enjoyment of learning.
- Assess and track pupil progress: Regularly monitor pupil learning, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment: Promote a positive, nurturing atmosphere where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
- Collaborate with colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and support staff to share best practice, develop curriculum resources, and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
- Engage with parents and carers: Maintain strong communication, reporting on progress, celebrating achievements, and supporting learning at home.
- Promote wider school life participation: Encourage pupils to engage in enrichment activities, assemblies, and school events to develop confidence, teamwork, and responsibility.
- Utilise diverse teaching resources: Incorporate a range of strategies, materials, and technology to support effective and inclusive learning.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 pupils in a primary setting
- Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for inspiring pupils and fostering a love of learning
- Collaborative and reflective approach , committed to continuous professional development
