Salary: S23 (£32,629) – S28 (£36,748)
The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Student Support Officer to join our team at KAA and make a huge difference to the day to day running of the school and the student experience.
We are looking for someone who combines their professional knowledge and competencies with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in an organised and pragmatic fashion. The successful candidate will be a valued point of contact for lots of staff including heads of year and the wider pastoral team.
A typical day may include communicating with a parent about their child’s well-being or health care plan, triaging first aid advice for students that report to the office with symptoms of ill-health, administrating medication for students on a health care plan (diabetic pupils, for example) and coordinating first aid training for the wider school. In essence, the role is varied and rewarding and can provide useful experience in building a future career in student welfare.
Applicants who have worked in similar positions within a school setting, child or social services or within healthcare setting are encouraged to apply (for example, someone who was previously a school nurse who is looking to return to education but from a different perspective). Also, anyone with a background in student mentoring or pastoral work would also be a suitable candidate.
