Senior Estimator - Refurbishments

A leading main contractor specialising in refurbishment and regeneration projects within the housing and public sectors is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of complex refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement schemes across London and the South East. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates and tenders, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with client requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare and manage estimates for refurbishment and planned maintenance projects * Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope * Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to develop robust pricing strategies * Undertake site visits and risk assessments where required * Coordinate the preparation of tender submissions, including technical and commercial elements * Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives * Work closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams to support bid and project delivery * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, supply chain capacity, and industry trends Requirements: * Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating within the refurbishment or construction sector * Strong background in social housing, planned maintenance, or occupied property works * Excellent understanding of estimating software (e.g. Causeway, Conquest, or similar) * Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills * Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to tight deadlines * Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) Ideal Candidate:
