Job Description

At Aberdeen, our ambition is to be the UK’s leading Wealth & Investments group.

  • Our Adviser business provides financial planning solutions and technology for UK financial advisers, enabling them to create value for their customers.

  • Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.

About the Department

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and Domain leadership to define scalable data strategies and models that support business objectives and future readiness.

  • Identify opportunities to reuse and enhance existing data assets, ensuring compliance with governance, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, translating requirements into actionable specifications.

  • Provide data insights and modelling support throughout the delivery lifecycle, participating in agile ceremonies.

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and address data needs, ensuring alignment with agile methodologies and technical solutions.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience with data modelling tools and techniques (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, UML, etc.).

  • Proficiency in SQL/Python and data manipulation.

  • Knowledge of Snowflake & Azure

  • Understanding of data architecture principles and data governance.

  • Good understanding of database management, design best practices and enterprise-level data architecture.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong communicator who can simplify complexity for diverse audiences.

  • Thrive in agile, collaborative environments and enjoy continuous learning.
