Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, London, to £55k

Opportunity to join a close knit corporate tax team headed by a very supportive Partner. The team are looking for a strong Assistant Manager or possibly an experienced Supervisor who is looking to take on more responsibility and progress their career.

Working directly to the Partner, this role gives you great visibility within the team and wider firm. You will manage your own portfolio of business clients who are predominantly SMEs, listed companies and multinational groups, working closely with them to understand their needs and risk factors. You will deliver a comprehensive suite of services to your clients, managing their tax compliance but also supporting them with tax planning initiatives to ensure they are as tax efficient as possible. Your commercial outlook and ability to think strategically will stand you in good stead in this role.

The corporate tax work you will undertake is both broad and varied and covers a whole range of sectors, to include groups, property companies and international issues. You must therefore be adept at undertaking technical research and ensuring you are staying up to date with all the latest developments. There is some cross functional work within the team which will give you the chance to expand your skills base and allow you to speak more broadly to your clients. A good grasp of Alphatax is desirable.

Your people skills will also be important, not only in developing trusted relationships with your clients, but also within the team. Part of your role will be to mentor those members of staff currently studying for the CTA, as well as train more junior staff, and to pass on your experience and knowledge accordingly.

The Partner is looking for someone from a corporate tax background who is either CTA and / or ACA/ACCA qualified. You should have some tax advisory experience already and possess an inherent confidence, both in your understanding of the tax issues, and in your interactions with your clients.
