Role Information

The school is seeking an experienced, strategic, and detail-focused Finance Manager to oversee financial operations across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the finance team and overseeing daily financial processes

  • Managing budgeting cycles, financial forecasting, and long-term strategic planning

  • Producing management accounts, reports, and financial statements

  • Overseeing fee billing, credit control, and parent account management

  • Ensuring compliance with independent school financial standards and charity regulations

  • Liaising with auditors, governors, and senior leaders

  • Managing payroll oversight, procurement, and financial controls

  • Monitoring expenditure and advising heads of departments on budgets

  • Identifying opportunities for cost-efficiency and improved financial systems

  • Maintaining robust financial procedures and safeguarding school assets

This role requires exceptional organisation, financial accuracy, and strong leadership.

Requirements

  • Finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent desirable)

  • Significant experience in school or charity finance

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, audits, and financial compliance

  • Experience leading finance teams

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills

  • Strong IT skills including financial software

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
